  • Overview

    The Account Executive is responsible for presenting opportunities in proteins, dairy and value added lines to existing and potential customers. Effectively communicate industry updates to include commodity markets and trends both internally and externally. Measure and analyze sales metrics to optimize customer growth customer growth in tonnage and profitability.

    Responsibilities

    • Create orders for customers on a daily basis
    1. Order entry
    2. Pre call planning
    3. Utilize Enterprise Cafe (sales reporting tool) for new and lost opportunities
    4. Establish and cultivate excellent customer relationships
    5. Communicate daily specials, market trends, stock status, order status,delivery concerns
    6. Profile customer
    7. Customer penetration
    • Work closely with Purchasing
    1. Communicate pertinent information about customer’s current and potential business (products, categories, pricing, competitive pricing)
    • Prospecting
    1. Cold Calls
    2. Account Penetration
    3. Follow up on leads provided
    • Administrative
    1. Update and maintain call sheets
    2. Research and review unauthorized deductions
    3. Strong communication with transportation, warehouse and accounting.
    • Work closely with sales support team
    1. Ensure any administrative functions are being implemented.
    2. Build and foster a sound working relationship interdepartmentally
    • Occasional Travel

    Qualifications

    • Experience in a fast paced environment
    • Bachelors Degree or related experience preferred, High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • 3-5 years of retail or foodservice experience required.

    KSA's

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Detail oriented
    • Must be able to handle heavy customer contact, being comfortable interacting with all  types of people and different situations  
    • Knowledge of the food industry, specifically meat products a plus
    • Computer skills with a strong background in Excel and Microsoft Office preferred
